The Career and Personal Development Program (CPDP) will merge into every aspect of each student’s social and academic learning environments. CPDP is the research and development stage. The CPDP learning environment will be customizable to center on each student’s latest IEP, current diagnose, the their evaluation and assessment conducted during the Summer Bridge Program (SBP) and the student’s choice of profession. Some of the learning sections anticipate providing include:

  • Career Development:
    • Hands on Training (based on student’s career of choice)
      • “Day in the Life of…”
    • On Job Training
    • Internships
    • Business structure
    • Business Communication skills:
      • Using technology appropriately business communication
      • Basic Business relationships
        • Social aspect of business
  • Personal Development
    • Life Skills. Some of the areas to cover:
      • Handling money for banking, shopping, paying bills, transportation, social events, security, etc
      • Social dating, communication skills, etc
      • Grooming, including personal hygiene (males and females)
      • Self-defense
      • Cooking
      • Confidence building
      • Respect for others and self
  • Communication through the arts. Some of the areas to cover:
    • Expressing ones self through the music, dance, painting, computer design, etc
    • Voicing our opinion in a respectful way through the arts
